Analisa, Author of "Stop, Please!"
Y'all! I am so excited that I am getting to share with you a little about the author of one of my children's favorite books! "Stop, Please!" is about a little girl who uses the phrase "Stop, Please!" when others are touching her without her consent. This book gives great language for young children who may not be able to fully verbalize their discomfort around this when with other children (or adults). It is a quick phrase that is easy for them to implement and use anywhere. With having two toddlers in my home, this book definitely has helped us navigate how to use their voice to stop others and how to listen when others have asked you to stop. I'm so excited for you to meet this author!
Who are you?
"Hi! My name is Analisa, a stay-at-home, homeschooling momma based in Los Angeles, CA. My main focus right now is homeschooling my almost 4 year old."
Tell us about your connection to Montessori and the philosophy.
"I have a strong passion for early childhood education and spent 11 years teaching play-based preschool. Beyond my teaching background, I am also a certified parenting coach and I run an Instagram account dedicated to sharing parenting tips and motherhood inspiration.
I became familiar with the Montessori philosophy when my daughter was 6 months and fell in love with it! We have been using it in our house ever since. I wouldn't call myself a Montessori expert at all, but we do use the method as part of our homeschooling curriculum."
Tell us about your book and why you wrote it.
"Once my daughter turned 18 months, we spent a lot of time talking about how to stop unwanted touch at the playground from other children. This is when I realized there wasn't a book out there that talked about this. That's how "Stop, Please" was born. It's a simple repetitive book geared for children ages 2-4 that helps them learn to say stop to unwanted touch. Right now you can purchase the board book through my Instagram link in my bio for $15."

Your best advice for writing a children’s book.
"Writing a children's book is actually a lot easier than I thought. The hard part is finding an illustrator, publisher/printer and editor. Board books are a lot harder to print than hardcover or paperback."
Any plans to write another book?
"I have gone back and forth on writing a few more to add this series, but I promised myself I couldn't until I sold the ones I have now."
