"My name is Jenna and I am the owner of The Mama Mindful. My husband and I have one daughter who is 3 and we live in a small town in Michigan. I was once an elementary teacher before deciding to stay home and homeschool full-time. I used to teach kindergarten and first grade with one scary year in fifth grade!  I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a major in Math. I also have a Master's Degree in Educational Technology." 

"I stumbled upon the Montessori approach when my daughter was a year old and it spoke to me. I liked the simplicity of it and the realism of the tasks. They had a purpose and could always be related back to everyday life. Although I am not professionally trained, I try to incorporate a Montessori approach in our house."

"I started The Mama Mindful as a creative outlet that still kept me connected to the teaching world. It gave me a purpose other than being just a “mom” and I loved creating printables just like I did when I was in a classroom. Fast forward and now my business is much more than that.  I am now inspired by my daughters interests and learning goals, which help me create units and activities for younger children. It has also brought about a wonderful group of like minded people to connect with along my homeschooling and parenthood journey."

"Make sure it is something you are passionate about and just start. I remember thinking about random business ventures for years and never actually started them. I finally decided to just do it.  It has been such a fun learning adventure since then!"

Offer subscriptions to our learning units and provide a better outline on HOW to teach something and pacing guides attached for those that need more support."

When thinking of small business owners I wanted to give a voice to on my website, Jenna was definitely someone I thought of right away. I won a giveaway for printables she did last summer, and I was blown away at their beauty. They provide great extensions for different unit work you may be doing in your homeschool or classroom. We use her weather nomenclature cards and her moon pictures daily in my own home as part of our calendar work and they are just a thing of beauty.
